Joel has been a varsity football player at Jesuit High School since his sophomore year after recovering from a complete ACL reconstruction his freshman year. During Joel’s junior year, Jesuit won the 6A State Championship title. During this season Joel played offensive guard for the first time and achieved 2nd team All-Metro League honors. This past season, Jesuit made it to the quarter finals and Joel played entire games at both defensive end, and offensive guard. He was named 1st team All-Metro League defensive line, 3rd team offensive line, and 2nd team All-State defensive line. As a captain of the team, Joel was given the team award for Outstanding Lineman along with his twin brother and co-captain, Jarred Daul. After years of playing baseball, Joel decided to change things up and throw javelin his junior year. He placed 6th at the Oregon 6A Track and Field Championships and is chasing the school record this year. As a student athlete, Joel has maintained a 3.4 GPA and is a Jesuit Ambassador as well as an encounter group leader. Joel’s Christian service has included volunteering at multiple retirement communities and many years of service for the Portland Police Bureau’s Sunshine Division during the holidays. In his spare time, Joel likes to spend time with his friends and family on the water and mountain, and dominate in his fantasy football league. Joel will be playing football for the University of San Diego Toreros this fall and plans on studying Pre-Med or Business.
