Coach Auvinen has been a McNary High School teacher and coach for 29 years. He’s been the head coach for the last four years. Auvinen graduated from Central Washington University in 1988 where he played baseball and majored in biology education. At McNary, he also coaches baseball and teaches honors biology and marine science. Coach Auvinen resides in Keizer, Oregon with his wife Kristi, daughter Ellie (15), and son Riley (13).
